Hiking For All Abilities
Our 200 acre property is comprised of different types of terrain and vegetation, making it a unique and surprising place to explore on a stroll or more strenuous hike.

  • EASY - Walk to the top of the Orchard for fabulous 20-mile views of the southern Berkshires. Extend your hike by taking the Furnace Brook back country trail. The terrain is flat and follows the Furnace Brook creek to a stunning forest of majestic hemlocks. This entire hike takes about 1 hours roundtrip.
  • MODERATE - The hike to Serenity Pond* takes about two hours roundtrip. The terrain is flat with some moderate inclines and the pond is a wonderfully serene resting spot.
  • DIFFICULT - Take the wonderfully unpredictable Perry's Peak* trail (about 3.5 hours round-trip) for glimpses of some wildlife and vegetation. The Serenity Pond hike is the first leg of the hike up to the Peak.  This hike is somewhat challenging but affords unsurpassed views at the top!

Hikers are required to sign-in at the Farm Winery Store prior to their hike. There is a $5.00 fee per person -- with a portion donated to land preservation.  It is advised that hikers wear appropriate footwear (no open-toe shoes) and hats plus bring sunscreen and bug repellant.

Try Nordic Walking!

It Launched in Finland in 1997 and is now one of the fastest growing fitness sports in Europe. Nordic Walking:

  • Uses specifically designed poles to engage the upper body during fitness walking
  • Consumes approximately 400 calories per hour (compared with 280 calories per hour for normal walking)
  • Releases pain and muscle tension in the neck/shoulder
  • Reduces the load on knees and other joints

Arcadian Shop in Lenox sells poles. Click here to learn more.

Have a Picnic

The top of the Orchard is arguably one of the best scenic views of the Berkshire hills, making this a wonderful place to rest with snacks or a picnic lunch.  Snacks and beverages are available at the Farm Winery Store or you can bring your own.

Apple Picking, Free Hay Rides

The Fall is our favorite season here as our delicious tree-ripe apples are ready to be picked. And if that isn't enough, there's the famous Fall foliage...our hilltop offers one of the best views of the colorful Berkshire hills. Families enjoy the free hay rides up to the orchard to pick their own apples.  The orchard grows over 24 varieties including many antique heritage apples that have been preserved and propagated for over 100 years.
