About Hilltop Orchards

“Enjoy a Tasty Berkshire Experience”

We love apples. Our spectacular orchard is more than 100 years old and filled with beautiful, delicious fruit. We grow 27 different varieties of apples, including wonderful heritage and heirloom apples. Our on-site cidery is one of the oldest continually operating cideries in New England and we are committed to the craft. Please spend a day or an afternoon with us.

Nestled at the foothills of the Berkshires and on the border of upstate New York, Hilltop Orchards is a 187-acre working farm with an orchard-to-can cidery, winery and tasting room. We’re proud to sustainably grow our many apple varieties and other fruits at the orchard. Some of our apples are heirloom apples with century-old trees that date back to the start of the orchard. We turn them into amazing apple and fruit products with complete quality control on-site.

The Vittori family operates Hillside Orchards under three guiding principles:

  • Create warm memories for groups of friends and families with an immersive orchard experience.

  • Produce artisanal ciders and wines that authentically represent the fruit.

  • Operate using the principles of sustainable agriculture that will enable our orchard to last for generations.

MAKING MEMORIES

Be inspired by the vast open space and fantastic Berkshire views from the top of Hilltop. You, your friends, your family and even your dog (on a leash, please) are welcome to share in this beautiful place. Start with a warm apple cider donut. Enjoy cider and wine tastings, strolls in the orchard, hikes on our woodland trails, apple picking (in season) and more. It will be a glorious day that you will not forget,

SUSTAINABLE FARMING

We are committed to preserving local farming and sustainable agriculture. We produce only residue-free apples using our integrated pest management system, or IPM. Common sense practices such as weeding and trimming help keep the pest populations down without the use of harmful chemicals. Sustainable also means getting the best use of the land. We open our land to the community for apple picking, hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing for the enjoyment of nature.

GREAT CIDERS AND WINES

Great ciders and wines authentically taste like the fruits they come from. We can make great products because we are intimately familiar with fruit and farm. As an orchard-to-can cidery, we take a hands-on approach and maintain complete quality control over every step. Each apple and grape variety expresses itself. Pure ingredients, great sun and fresh water bring out the best in the Berkshires.
